Due to their high gypsum content, plasterboards are basically suitable for recycling.

Due to their high gypsum content, plasterboards are basically suitable for recycling.

Plasterboards are used in particular as wall and ceiling cladding, as planking for assembly walls and for the production of prefabricated components. Depending on the intended use, they differ slightly in their material composition, but usually consist of 80 - 95 % gypsum and a cardboard coating (about 4 %).

During the processing, the paper components and other adhesions are first separated from the gypsum. The gypsum powder or granulate then can be reused as a secondary raw material in the gypsum and cement industries.

Our twin-shaft shredder M465/2-570 easily shreds the Plasterboards into a homogeneous gypsum-cardboard mixture and thus prepares the material for further processing.

WEEE plastic recycling innovator expands Preston site

Disruptive plastic recycler 3R Technology is gearing up for further growth in 2022, as the ambitious scrap handler invests in new technology to bolster its UK operations. With more than 20 years’ experience - particularly in the Belgian market - attention recently turned to the UK and the WEEE plastic processing challenge. Approximately 2,000 tonnes of shredded small domestic appliance (SDA) plastics are now being handled by the team every month, at their 5000m² warehouse in Preston. Two UNTHA shredders...

Bicycle Tyres Need a Solution in China

China is still a nation where the bicycle is a key mode of transport. It has a strong network of shared bicycle and electric bicycle provision. These bikes create a considerable volume of waste tyres every year, and waste bicycle tyres are a different challenge compared to car tyres due to the fine wire causing issues with shredders, and the textile being a difficult to dispose of material. However, China is addressing the issue by installing sports courts in provincial schools across the country. Discover what...

TANA Shark waste shredder helping turn industrial waste into new packaging materials in UK

The seemingly insatiable global demand for Chinese products means that the country itself struggles to produce enough packaging material for its manufacturing industry and the goods that are subsequently shipped worldwide. This created an unmissable business opportunity for New Horizon Plastics in Wales, which is currently exporting all the recycled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pellets it can produce, ably assisted by two TANA Shark 440DTeco machines that are helping turn industrial waste into this valuable...

Recycling Lives Deals with ELV Waste

Recycling Lives, the UK’s largest end-of-life vehicles processor, is developing a ground-breaking solution that uses hard-to-recycle automotive shredder residue (ASR) to deliver renewable energy and reduce waste-to-landfill. It is part of this broader model for the business creating opportunities for generating energy to run site operations and green hydrogen to power emission-free vehicles, alongside re-tasking batteries from end-of-life electric vehicles (EV) for re-use, e.g., for energy storage. Discover...

Pyrolysis Plants Can Reduce Environmental Concerns Caused by Waste Tyres

Our prime consumption of vehicles for transportation requires using rubber tyres which get worn out after a time, and really need to be disposed of. Earlier these were just discarded in landfills and greatly led to environmental degradation. Technologies have found a remedy of making use of pyrolysis to process the waste tyres and convert them into useful byproducts. Get the MSW pyrolysis plant.A tyre pyrolysis plant consists of a reactor when the waste tires are gently heated by making use of fuel like coal,...
